Domotica now more and more in our life. The word “domotica” soon will be familiar to all people as it stands for home automation or smart house concept.
GSM Domotica device manufactured by Elgato is called “rebooter” or “power switch”.
After you install SIM-card into device, it is fully controlled remotely by SMS-messages send from regular cellular phone and it is ready for Domotica applications. This is useful for turning ON or OFF power load or make RESET-function for devices connected to 220V\50 Hz power networks and located in remote areas (in country houses, server rooms and for home appliances).
The device consists of a control processor, GSM modem, six external control channels and two channels of control.
Domotica power switch operates six outlets 220V/50Hz, and also receive data from two measuring channels ADC - built-in battery voltage and temperature sensor. Exchange of information with the owner carried out on the mobile-network - calls, SMS. Relay with normally closed contacts is used to control domotica outlets. Upon command from the GSM (SMS, phone call), each channel or all channels can be switched off or reset (OFF for 5 seconds and ON again).
Built-in sensor measures the temperature of the environment and is very useful for Domotica applications. If it exceeds +50 ° C or it is below -10 ° C, power switch will send SMS-warning at a pre-determined cell-number SMS (and will send repeatedly every 10 minutes).
Built-in rechargeable battery keeps device settings when main power source is not available (disconnected or turned off), also it keeps owner informed about. In this case, SMS with the message about this event will be sent to the predetermined GSM-number (Number1). When utility power restored – rebooter will send message also.
Power switch for Domotica systems has six LEDs with on the side of the box and spaced approximately 2 cm - indication of the voltage on the respective outlets.
Another group of three LEDs indicates the state of device control: Green - blinking indicates the work of GSM-transceiver, yellow – means charging battery runs, red - no main power - the device operated by internal battery. On the same side there is a toggle switch to disable battery (needed for example, if the device being transported, or power disabled manually), as well as the Reset button – by clicking it channels being reset to the original state i.e. "Enabled".
Domotica concept assumes total control on home appliances remotely. We offer you to use this power switch for comfortable and easy control of remote devices which is helpful in many cases starting from “Did I turned off iron” and finishing with “Urgent corporate server or switch reboot”.
